Frankfort Electronics Repair is Moving to Ann Arbor for the School Year
By August 30th, 2018 I will be departing Frankfort for my Freshman year at the University of Michigan, during which I will be unable to offer local service in the Frankfort / Benzie County Area. Some repairs will become unavailable starting August 24th. For information on MAIL IN REPAIRS or placing yourself on a waiting list to receive service during Breaks, Holidays, or at the beginning of Summer 2019, please see my Contact Page
My name is Alex Thayer, and I've spent my life in Frankfort always intrigued by electronics and computers, and how they work. Over the past 10 years, I have disassembled and reinvented just about everything with a circuit board in it that you can find, leading up to where I'm at now - A freshman excited to get started with computer engineering at the University of Michigan.
In the past five years or so, finding myself disgusted with Apples refusal to fix perfectly good devices, and their outrageous prices, I have started a small business out of my house fixing everything imaginable. I have countless hours of experience repairing hundreds of iPhone's, Androids, PCs, Mac books, etc as well as with troubleshooting software issues on mobile and desktop platforms.
Help, I just dropped my device in water or spilled something on it!
In the event that you drop your device in water or spill something on it, please turn it off immediately, remove the battery if possible, place it in a sealed plastic bag or container, and do not attempt to charge it or power it on, then take it in for repair as soon as physically possible. PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOUR DEVICE IN RICE. When the water evaporates out of your device, the minerals left behind cause additional damage to your phone. Your best chance of recovery is to get your phone to me while it is still wet. Do not use the quote form, contact me directly using the number on the "Contact" page for water damage requests.
Why go local?
Many repairs can be completed in under an hour, while more complex services are often available overnight. Don't spend a week without your device while it sits in the mail or on a shelf.
Every repair or service offered is substantially cheaper than those offered by Apple and big box stores. This can be a small difference, or several hundred dollars.
Repairs and services are available locally that cannot be found anywhere else nearby, save yourself the long drive.
-Above and Beyond
There is almost always hope for your device or data - Big companies lie about what can be fixed on a common basis to get you to replace your device.
